Privacy compliance is an often overlooked detail for many online businesses. That’s where Warp Request comes in.
What we do
When we audit your site, we will help you identify privacy compliance issues. The report we build at the end of an audit can provide real, actionable solutions.
The problem
Your website can not rely on the privacy policy of others. Let’s take the common example of GoogleTagManager (GTM). This tag management tool boasts a massive suite of plugins that apparently help manage privacy and user privacy consent. Let’s say a website owner is using one of these consent management tools with their GTM account. When they load the GTM script on their site, everything seems to work well. Product owners and developers rejoice. They see a cookie banner popping up with the the options: "Accept All" or "Adjust consent settings". Problem solved.
...Right?
First of all, have you checked every network request and cookie after a user opts out of all trackers? Secondly, in this scenario, you have to load a 3rd party google script (even if it's server-side GTM) every single pageload in order to manage user privacy consent. Is that a good idea?
Unfortunately, lawsuits can be filed against organizations using a non-compliant 3rd party. In the scenario described above, you are still loading a google domain. You can’t be sure what they are logging on the server even if the contents of the GTM script are not being actively used.
What is described above is one of hundreds of potential privacy issues that can occur on any website. Even if you are using a different implementation and other tools, are you 100% certain they are working from a privacy compliance standpoint? Believe it or not, there's big business revolving around litigating organizations for non-compliance. Accidental or not.
Once you schedule an audit, our team will exhaustively test your site from a privacy compliance standpoint. We will compare loading your site from California to Connecticut, from Vancouver to Munich and beyond. Through the lens of international privacy regulations, we will identify places you may run into problems. Once the audit is complete, you will get a document detailing specific issues and how to fix them.
